Singer HD 110 Heavy Duty Sewing Machine Review

The Singer HD 110 Sewing Machine is a professional level machine with a powerful motor capable of sewing at very high speeds. It also features a heavy duty metal frame with stainless steel bed plate for extra durability and a large acrylic extension table which gives you room to maneuver large projects. There is another attachment for the table which helps you stitch perfect circles.

Threading the machine is easy using the top drop-in bobbin, automatic needle threader, and automatic bobbin winder. There are a total of ten stitch patterns, the ability to adjust stitch length and width as well as the option to change the needle the position. The Singer HD 110 heavy duty machine includes a variety of presser feet ( all Purpose, Buttonhole, Zipper, Invisible Zipper, 1/4-inch, Blind Hem, Special Purpose), the extension table, spool caps, bobbins, and a twin needle.

Singer HD 110 Heavy Duty Reviews We found some mixed reviews for the Singer HD 110 Sewing Machine. The reviewers who like the machine were very impressed with how fast it sews and several people said it is just as fast as an industrial machine. It is very easy to setup using the automatic needle threading system and sews beautiful straight stitches. The machine has the power to sew through heavy fabrics such as denim and one owner even uses it to sew heavy dog collars. A few quotes from owners are "It's an absolutely great machine" and "The machine lives up to all my expectations. I am very pleased."

On the negative side of things many people stated the Singer HD 110 Heavy Duty Sewing Machine is not as heavy duty as Singer claims. Although the frame is metal the housing is made of plastic as well as the needle holder, bobbin holder and some of the presser feet. One owner said the machine does sew very fast but it doesn't have enough pressure in the pressure foot or feed mechanism to support the motor speed which can cause the fabric to stop while the machine continues to sew away. There were a few reports of poor Singer customer service and it can be difficult to get someone on the phone.

After reading many reviews of the Singer HD 110 Heavy Duty we think it would be best suited to someone on a budget looking for a no frills machine that can sew very fast through heavy fabric and doesn't need any fancy stitches.

does the chlorine or the other chemicals present in the swimming pool affect your eyes if you swim without goggles.

When I was in college, I used to be a lifeguard at an outdoor swimming pool that used chlorine. I used to love swimming underwater looking for loose change during the rest periods. The longer I spent underwater, the more my eyes would burn from the chlorine. But the burning was temporary. Watertight goggles could have prevented this but I never used goggles in pools. Did it affect my vision? I did not need glasses until 30 years later. And that was only for reading.

When I would swim in a lake, I would use goggles then. That was to protect my eyes from things in the water like twigs, plant life, and other stuff. Today, with all the forms of chemical and toxic industrial polution being dumped into our lakes and oceans, I would be afraid to swim in lakes or oceans. In fact, I have not swum in any lake or ocean for over 20 years.

If pool chemicals were a known danger, there would have been warning signs posted everywhere. Plus the pool chemical industry would have been under pressure to invent safer chemicals to replace chlorine.
