Swim Swimming Goggles can i wear a swim dress in school's public swimming pool? is that funny?
i want to swim in our schools swimming pool. and I have some questions.
1.can i wear a swim dress? It's a one piece swim-wear but has a skirt which is to the laps.
2. If I can't, could you recommend some brands for me to buy a one piece? price ranges from 20-40 bucks.
3.Do I need to wear swimming goggles when swimming?

When doing laps, it is recommended to wear a speedo racing back one piece so you do not have to worry about the shoulder straps falling off. As far as wearing goggles is concerned that is optional.

Hello, I'm new to all this. I'm not very fast but don't get me wrong- I like it. The races are hard, and i'm pulling a LOT of weight and trying my best. But the one thing i can't get down isn't just well, one thing. I'm not quite sure about my flipturn. I would like some tips on that. My backstroke feels slow, any tips on that? hey there!! ive been a competitive swimmer for 10 years now and i think i can help you out with some tips for new swimmers!
Ok well first your backstroke. make sure u roll ur shoulders!! thats is a main basic tip!! i know ppl might have already said it but really it helps when your have ur floating down and your rolling your shoulders instead of flailing your arms straight back and slapping the water. also one thing i used to do when i first began was i always tilted my head back to look for the wall so i didnt bang it...don't do that!! it adds resistance and slows u down. Finally one thing thats gives u and edge with backstroke and freestyle is if you are ahead of someone and they are gaining on u, swim more to the side of the lane in which they are next to you... you will create more resistance for them and make them slow down a bit, of course if their really fast it wont matter
Flip turns: As a swimmer i always hated flip turns, they can make a break a race sometimes! for a beginner i would suggest that you take a deep quick breath before you make the flip turn otherwise it will be disastrous! You will be gasping for air and come out of the water quicker than the others which as you get older, isnt always good. You really want to stay under water for a good amount of time because it sometimes gives you an advantage. Also when doing your flip turn make sure you are doing it like a summer salt! try to keep it as straight as possible instead of tilting towards the side so that you can get a better kick off the wall! finally try to get pretty close to the wall before you turn so that you arent floating to the wall.. that will make you slower

breast stroke: aka the worlds most annoyingly hard stroke the learn!! this was a stroke i could never master since my best are freestyle and backstroke.. the only thing i can rlly suggust is rlly concentrate on your legs!! bring them up to your butt side by side, then to the side then down then together... like a circular motion... :/ this isnt my best stroke so sorry if my advice isnt clear
freestyle: ahh.. my fav stroke! also probably the most competative. the number one thing to remember with freestyle is like backstroke you should roll your shoulders!!! as long as you control your arms and dont have them flailing and slapping the water, you are doing good. also for begginners something i always notice is they do slap the water with their hands... if thats you that picture your hand like an ice cream cone scooper, when your hand reaches the water scoop the water and push it back underwater to your hips.. this way its kinda of like pushing you foward more! also work out a system for breathing!! i always go five strokes then breath to one side... sometimes i rotate where i breathe right or left depending on if im watching where the biggest threat in the water is to me!! Finally when you are breathing simply breathe right to the side, dont lift your head out of the water, it will slow you down
goggle tips: This took me forever to master but i finally found a pair of good goggles!! if u are serious about competing, dont know if you, then get a pair of goggles that has a darker tint to it... mine is red! so that if it does fog up, ( which really means that you need to tighten it) its darker so you dont notice as much in a race. Also instead of using the strap on the goggles that it comes with, attach one of these!! Its super easy to aggust and will help if you need to tighten or loosen pronto! they are kinda like bungee cords!
