Ball Float Nip What kinds of moss is used for floating in your aquarium?
I saw moss balls in a PETCO that looked like moss right off a tree, and the fish were nipping off it like crazy. I look online and I see only java moss examples... Could I just collect any moss from the trees and safely install it in my freshwater tank?
What you saw were Marino moss balls. They're getting to be more common in fish stores. Java moss is another one you can find. I like Riccia which isn't a moss, it's a liverwort, but it can be harder to find without ordering it online.
A good place to find more exotic types of moss is Aquabid.com http://www.aquabid.com/ but it's shipped from overseas and you have to pay for the shipping on it. But if you combine a few types from one seller, it lowers the cost by having them shipped together.
Moss from trees isn't aquatic, it'll rot if you try to keep it in water.
ADDED Java moss doesn't really float, it should be tied to driftwood so it will attach to that. The riccia will float for a while, but as it grows it gets too heavy and will sink. I've found that with power filters, it's hard to get anything to float, the water coming out of the filter pushes everything underwater and it gets caught an the bottom of the filter intake tube. If you want something to float, don't use a moss or anything small like duckweed or frogbit. Get something large like water sprite or Anacharis and let it grow all the way across the top, but even some of this will get pushed down by your filter. Floating plants only work well if you have a canister filter or internal filter.

I usually don't care too much about celebrities, but my friends started talking about how miley cyrus has really gone downhill. I didn't understand what they were talking about until i searched her on google and the main things that popped up was "Miley Nip-Slip" and "Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair" and "Miley Cyrus Bra" and i was completely mortified. My six year old sister used to love Hannah Montana but now i don't think she should watch it anymore. It is incredible that this girl still has a contract with disney. yea she may be a teenager or whatever, but she is also supposed to be a role model for many young girls and i don't think she deserves that respect with all the pics she has done. Teenagers can be teenagers without taking pics like that. My question,why hasn't disney dropped her yet?Is it going to take her having some sex video before they do? or will they keep her because now they have the porno watching male pop. watching her?
Even discounting these "incidents" Miley Cyrus is not a great role model for anyone. She is a teenager, and she isn't perfect. You shouldn't expect her to be. Disney doesn't expect her to be. No one is perfect -- kids experiment; kids make mistakes. That's the only way you learn anything.
Why does she still have a contract with Disney? The answer is simple. Money. Disney is a business and as long as Miley is profitable, they will keep her. Sure, she might be having a bit of a downfall, but money is money. If she hits rock bottom and loses profitability altogether-- regardless of HOW she gets there -- they will toss her aside. To Disney, Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) is a product first and a person second.
If you have children and they understand that the things Miley has done are not "cool" but are in fact embarrassing, then they will learn from Miley's mistakes without having to make them on their own. In a paradoxical way, Miley *could* be a good role model in the ironic sense that she is a bad one. Sometimes pity helps you learn to avoid what caused someone else's downfall.
The problem isn't Miley. The problem is that Miley is influencing children more than their parents are. Let Miley be Miley, even if she is stupid and a terrible music artist. If kids can't figure that out by the time they become teenagers, *they're* stupid.

I need help with my puppy!?
I just got a coppernose beagle puppy who will be 12 weeks old. She followed me around and licked me and never left my side for the first week we had her. We've had her for a week and for the last few days she bites, nips, won't listen to "no", only comes to her name when she's in a different room, doesn't really pay attention, won't listen to "sit", only does the command when she is hungry and i have doggie snacks, etc. I don't think she respects me, and I don't know what to do. I can't teach her any commands because she doesn't pay attention to me (or won't pay attention for long). Can someone help me? I'm leaving for a week to go to Disney World with my dad and my mom is going to watch her. I'm 14 and I need some advice in training my puppy!
She shouldn't be afraid of me because I don't hit her, I only use "no" and I put her in her kennel for a few minutes when she is biting too much. (I hope I didn't forget anything else =])
Well, I can only speculate, but it sounds like she doesn't have any respect for you. Like most new puppies, she's probably been doted-on every waking minute. This makes a dog feel like you are their subordinate and they are the leader of the pack. Try reading some things on asserting your pack leadership (Cesar Milan is a good one for this) and see if she starts paying attention to you.
