The 2nd person who answered this question that said "whoever invented speedos should be slapped" fyi speedos if you swim or do water polo make you go extra fast. Who cares if you don't look good. Why would anyone as critical as you get a guy in the first place?

Okay for the last two nights I've watched the Olympic trials in swimming on the USA Network. Last night, for the first time, I really took notice of the suits the guys and girls were wearing. I don't see anything extra-ordinary about these new suits Speedo has made. They can't be ALL that fabulous if one of the guys last night broke a World Record and all he was wearing was the pants-like swim suit; nothing covering his chest.
Well, suposedly, the new swimsuit minimizes skin movement which creates drag. With less drag, you can swim faster. Since the suit is skin tight, the skin can't move, which means no skin movement realated drag.
If you're still a really good swimmer, you can beat the world record without having one of the new suits on.

whats your preference for swimming when you've got friends over in the back yard pool?
story: I wear boardies, and I've noticed whenever I get out, they stick to me and u can see everything!!, the same is with my friends that wear them. Also I've noticed that they tend to fly off or down when u dive in.
Its not so bad cos we're all good buds and at some point or another have seen it all before anyway, however we're not all guys in the group and embarressing guy things can happen.
does this happen to you? which is better to wear in a group of mostly guys and a few girls-speedo or boardies?
