Lake Ocean
For hygienist or naturalists--Is it alright to clean or bathe in the ocean, pond or lake on a deserted island?
For the hygiene experts or naturalists out there -- is it ok to clean, bathe or wash clothes in the ocean seawater around deserted islands with no personal affects? Would that help for hygiene? Or if there was a pond or lake, would it help to wash clothes or bathe in it? Any other tips on hygiene on an island when you have no personal stuff to use? And would you have any tips on oral hygiene?
I would bathe in the ocean since it is saltwater and therefore would be somewhat antibacterial. The pond or lake would have lots of organisms that could cause sickness. Unfortunately, you would have to drink the fresh water and chance having an upset stomach. I would gargle with the ocean water and use a piece of clothing soaked in saltwater to scrub my teeth.
